What it is

A feeding tube is a thin soft tube that goes through the nose into the stomach. It lets staff feed a baby who cannot feed by mouth yet. This one is made for neonatal and paediatric patients.

It is medical grade PVC and 50 cm long. The tip is smooth and coned with two side eyes. A radio opaque strip runs along the tube so staff can check its position on X ray. The female luer mount is colour coded for size.

It comes in four sizes: 5FG grey, 6FG light green, 7FG white and 8FG. Each tube is sterile, non toxic and pyrogen free. It comes in a straight pack and is EO sterilised.
