What separates a good trolley from a cheap one
The castors. This is where cheap trolleys fail first. Look for 100mm castors with at least two brakes. A trolley that will not roll over a ward threshold is dead weight.
The steel. Ask for 304 grade stainless. Painted mild steel chips, then rusts, then cannot be disinfected properly.
The welds. Run a finger under the shelf edges. Rough welds trap fluid and they cut hands.
The lock. On a drug cabinet the lock is the product. A cabinet with a lock anyone can force is a compliance problem, not a furniture problem.
What to check before you buy
- Load rating per shelf, in writing.
- Whether it arrives assembled or flat packed and whether assembly is included.
- Castor size and how many brake.
- For a crash cart, whether the drawers lock and take breakaway seals.
- For a drug cabinet, whether the lock meets your pharmacy inspector requirements.
