What you are paying for

The frame. Powder coated steel lasts. Thin tube frames flex within a year in a busy clinic.

The upholstery. Medical grade vinyl survives daily disinfectant. Ordinary leatherette cracks and then it cannot be cleaned properly, which is an infection issue, not a cosmetic one.

Adjustment. A fixed flat couch is fine for general consulting. If you do minor procedures or antenatal work you want an adjustable backrest and stirrups for gynaecology.

Weight rating. Check the stated load. Many cheap couches are rated at 100kg, which is not enough.
